Visualizing the Nobel Prize a brief overview of its history
The Nobel Prize is a set of annual international awards bestowed in several categories by Swedish and Norwegian institutions in recognition of academic, cultural, or scientific advances. The prize is awarded for outstanding contributions for humanity in chemistry, literature, peace, physics, and physiology or medicine. Later, in 1968 Sweden’s central bank established the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, this means that the Nobel Prize in Economics is not technically a Nobel Prize, but it is awarded according to the same principles.
